By accessing or using CrossEights™ or CrossEights Daily™ (collectively, the "Game"), you agree to these Terms of Service. CrossEights is owned and operated by Beyond The Fossils.

These Terms apply whether you play directly on a CrossEights website or through an authorized "Powered by CrossEights" version embedded on another website.

The Game

CrossEights is a free-to-play browser-based word puzzle game. CrossEights services may share accounts, leaderboards, game data, and related functionality.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Game at any time.

Publisher Websites

Authorized publishers may embed CrossEights on their websites. Beyond The Fossils operates CrossEights; the publisher independently operates the website surrounding the Game.

Your use of CrossEights is governed by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Your use of the publisher's website may also be subject to that publisher's own terms and privacy policy.

Accounts

You may play as a guest or create an account where those options are available. If you create an account, you are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your account credentials, and activity conducted through your account.

Acceptable Use

You may not manipulate scores or leaderboard rankings; use bots or automated tools to play the Game; interfere with the Game or its systems; attempt unauthorized access; use inappropriate or misleading display names; or use CrossEights unlawfully or to harm other users.

We may remove scores or suspend or terminate accounts for cheating, abuse, security threats, or violations of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

CrossEights™, CrossEights Daily™, their names, logos, puzzles, software, game design, graphics, and associated content are owned by or licensed to Beyond The Fossils and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Game except with our permission. Authorized publishers may display CrossEights according to the separate terms of the CrossEights Publisher Program.

Leaderboards

Leaderboard rankings are based on game performance. We may remove or adjust scores we reasonably believe resulted from cheating or manipulation. Scores, rankings, and other game achievements have no monetary value unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information associated with your use of CrossEights. Publishers independently govern information collected through their own websites.

Disclaimers and Liability

CrossEights is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Game will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beyond The Fossils will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Game or from third-party websites on which CrossEights appears.

Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of CrossEights after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms.

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
