New Difficulty Classification System
We've rolled out a new, higher-resolution difficulty classification system for all puzzles. Difficulty is now determined using word frequency data from the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), one of the most comprehensive databases of real-world English usage.
Every puzzle is now classified into one of four tiers: Easy, Medium, Difficult, and a new Special Blend category for puzzles that mix words across difficulty levels. This gives you a more accurate picture of what you're getting into before you start.
The leaderboard, difficulty preferences, and history pages have all been updated to reflect the new system. And stay tuned—new puzzles are coming soon built with this improved classification from the ground up!
